Origin of Roundworms

Roundworms appeared more than 550 million years ago. Scientists hypothesize that roundworms are more closely related to arthropods than to vertebrates. Scientists are still trying to figure out how roundworms fit into the evolution of animals. Roundworms were the first animals to have a mouth and digestive track.
